Remembering Patrice

Patrice Jeanne Dwyer, “Pat”, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. Born in Geneva, NY on June 20, 1952, Pat was proud of her Irish heritage, as both of her parents were 2nd generation Americans. She often reminisced about meeting the love of her life (Dan Dwyer) on New Year’s Eve 1970, when she was 18 years old. Pat worked at Applied Technology in Sunnyvale, CA until she had her first child, and then moved with her family to Phoenix. She enjoyed many lifelong friends and met some of her closest friends at her daughter’s preschool, Stepping Stones (38+ years ago)! Pat was a tireless volunteer at her children’s school, Canyon Elementary in Glendale. After her beloved Dan passed in 2001, Pat ran their successful business, Shamrock Shoe Repair on Glendale Avenue for more than 15 years, making new and keeping up with old family friends. She was an avid reader of just about every genre and was famous for her love of Big Gulps of Diet Dr. Pepper. Pat loved to crochet and made countless baby blankets for her friends, nieces and nephews. She loved her two children Jenny (39) and Jimmy (34). Jimmy and his wife Sheia made Pat a grandmother to four: Norah, Daniel, Jeremi and Nannette. Jenny was grateful that she was there to hold Pat’s hand when she drew her last breath. Pat donated her body to Science Care Arizona to continue helping people after her soul went to Heaven. All are invited to attend a celebration of life at Xavier College Preparatory (4710 N 5th Street) on Saturday, February 19 from 12-2pm. Pat was lovingly cared for by Hospice of the Valley for nearly two years. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of the Valley in her name.
